The Route nationale 342 , or N 342 or RN 342 for short , was a French national road that ran from Cambrai to Bavay from 1933 to 1973. Their length was 45 kilometers.

N342a

The N342 A was a branch of the N342 in Cambrai in 1933, which served as a northern bypass. In the same year it was renumbered to N29 A and N39 A , so that the number N342 A could be used for the western bypass of Bavay, signposted as N342 B. This has had the number D942 A since 1973 .

N342b

The N342 B was a side branch of the N342 in 1933, which branched off as a western bypass at Bavay and led to the N49. In the same year the Umnummerung in N342 was made A .
