The Route nationale 29 , or N 29 or RN 29 for short , was a French national road .

history

The road was laid in 1824 between the N28 northeast of Neufchâtel-en-Bray and the Belgian border at Quiévrain . It goes back to route 32 impériale. Their length was 192.5 kilometers. In 1933 it was extended to include the section between a road intersection with national road 14 (from 1949 N13bis) east of Yvetot and the N28 east of Saint-Saëns, the length of which was 44 kilometers. In 1973 the route from Amiens to La Capelle was changed:

  • N 29 at Yvetot - N28
  • interrupted by N28
  • N 29 N28 - Amiens
  • N 35 Amiens - Longueau
  • N 336 Longueau - Estrées-en-Chaussée
  • N 44 Estrées-en-Chaussée - Saint-Quentin
  • N 30 Saint-Quentin - La Capelle

In 2006, the N 29 was completely downgraded to département roads . Today the A29 runs parallel between Yvetot and Saint-Quentin, the number of which, like the A28, is based on the national road.

N29a

The N29 A was a side branch of the N29 from 1933 to 1973, which branched off from it in Cambrai west of the center and led to the N17 as a bypass. 1933 this road was briefly part of the N342 A . In 1978 the road became part of the new N30.

N2029

The N2029 was a side branch of the N29 from 1989 to 2006, which included the old route when it was led north around Poix-de-Picardie.
