The Route nationale 96 , or N 96 or RN 96 for short , was a French national road .

The road was laid in two parts in 1824 between an intersection of national road 8 south of Gémenos and Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban . Their total length was 122 kilometers. The route went back to the route impériale 115 . In 1978 the N 96 between Pont-de-l'Etoile and Aubagne took over the route of the national road 560 and the section via Gémenos became a branch of it with the number 396.

Partial routes that made up the tour 1978-2006:

  • N 560 Aubagne - Pont-de-l'Etoile
  • N 96 Pont-de-l'Etoile - Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban

N 396

While the national road 396 was an independent national road between 1933 and 1973, the N 396, which existed from 1982, was a side branch of the N 96, which arose from its old route between the intersection of the national road 8 and Pont-de-l'Etoile. In 2006 it was downgraded.
