The Route nationale 93 , or N 93 or RN 93 for short , was a French national road .
history
The road was laid in 1824 between Fiancey and a junction with National Road 85 north of Sisteron . It goes back to route 112 impériale . Their length was 158.5 kilometers. At the beginning of the 20th century, the section between Aspres-sur-Buëch and Pont la Barque was transferred to other national roads, as traffic in the direction of Sisteron had shifted to the shorter, parallel national road 75 since 1842 . This created the national road 93 A and from this point on the N 93 was interrupted by the N 75 and 12 kilometers shorter. In 1950 the section between Pont la Barque and the N 85 north of Sisteron was assigned to the N 75. So their length up to the graduation in 1973 was only 114 kilometers. From 1978 to 2006, there was a further use of the N 93 for a connection between the national roads 86 and 7 in Donzere who briefly N 86 as J was called.
