The Route nationale 92 , or N 92 or RN 92 for short , was a French national road .

The road was laid out in two sections in 1824. The first section ran between Valence and Seyssel and was 75.5 km long. From Seyssel and the Swiss border in Savoie, the road led on a 60.5 km long route. The course of the road goes back to the route impériale 111 . Their length was 136 kilometers.

Although the Savoie became part of France in 1860, the N 92 was only extended to the Swiss border near Geneva in 1923 . In addition, it also took over sections of national  roads 206 and  201 , which fell back on these roads in 1978. That made it 173 kilometers long. It went into Hauptstrasse 1 .

In 1973, the N 92 was downgraded to the Bourg-de-Péage - Moirans section. The national road 532 took over the section from Valence to Bourg-de-Péage and the National Roads  206 and  508 , the routes that they interrupted. In 2006 the N 92 was finally phased out.
