The Route nationale 65 , or N 65 or RN 65 for short , is a French national road .

history

The road ran between Neufchâteau and Bonny-sur-Loire from 1824 to 1973 . It goes back to route 83 impériale. Their length was 269.5 kilometers. In 1973 the sections between Chaumont and the N 6 in Auxerre and between the Autoroute A 6 at Auxerre and Bonny-sur-Loire were graduated. In 1978 the section from Neufchâteau to Chaumont was taken over by the N 74 .

Side branches

N 65a

The first Route nationale 65 A , or N 65 A or RN 65 A for short , ran from Bonny-sur-Loire to Beaulieu-sur-Loire from 1897 to 1933 . This is described in the main article Route nationale 65a . 1933 West bypass Chaumont, between the N and 65 was N 19 as a side branch 65 N A determined. This became the N 65 B in the same year . At the same time, a road east of Neufchâteau was signposted as N 65 A. It runs parallel to the south of the N 65 in an arc and is less than a kilometer long. This appears 65 in some old maps as N Et and N 65 R on. In 1973 it was downgraded to route départementale D 165 a .

N 65b

The Route nationale 65 B , N 65 B or RN 65 B for short , was a side branch of the N 65, which from 1933 to 1973 led west of Chaumont as a bypass of the city to a road junction with the N 19 . It was designated as N 65 A in 1933 and renumbered in the same year. Today, nearly one kilometer long road is a department of road and bears the number 65 D B .
