The Route nationale 24 , or N 24 or RN 24 for short , is a French national road .

The national road was established in 1824. The route connects the cities of Rennes and Lorient . It goes back to route 27 impériale. Their length was 147 kilometers.

It originally ran from the center of Rennes to the center of Lorient. The route now ends at the Rennes bypass and the Route nationale 165 expressway, which passes Lorient .

From 1971 the two-lane national road was expanded into a four-lane expressway with separate lanes.
