The Route nationale 168 , or N 168 or RN 168 for short , was a French national road .

It was established in 1824 between Quiberon and a junction with the national road 166 south of Dinard and goes back to the route impériale 188. The length was 182.5 kilometers. In 1967 the road was extended over the dam of the tidal power station Rance to national road 137 near Saint-Malo . The length increased by 5.5 kilometers. In 1973 the road was stepped between Quiberon and Baud and between Loudéac and Saint-Malo. It took over the section between Loudéac and Saint-Brieuc from national road 778 . In 1983 the N 168 was downgraded.

The Route nationale 168 A , or N 168 A or RN 168 A for short , was a French national road and from 1933 to 1973 a side branch of the N 168, which branched off from this in Moncontour and led to Hillion-Saint-René . Their length was 15 kilometers.
