Ploubalay ( Breton : Plouvalae ; Gallo : Ploubala ) is a former French commune with last 3,014 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the department of Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Dinan and the canton of Pleslin-Trigavou (until 2015: canton of Ploubalay ). The inhabitants are called Ploubalaysien (ne) s .
The municipality of Ploubalay merged with Plessix-Balisson and Trégon to form the new municipality of Beaussais-sur-Mer with effect from January 1, 2017 .
geography
Ploubalay is on the emerald coast of the English Channel . The Frémur river limits the municipality to the east. Ploubalay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lancieux in the north, Saint-Briac-sur-Mer in the northeast, Pleurtuit in the east, Tréméreuc in the east and southeast, Pleslin-Trigavou in the southeast, Languenan in the south, Créhen in the west and southwest and Trégon in the west. The municipality of Plessix-Balisson is completely enclosed by Ploubalay.
The former Route nationale 168 and Route nationale 786 (both today D768) run through the municipality .
