Plessix-Balisson ( Breton Ar Genkiz-Yuzhael ) is a former French commune with the last 89 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2013) in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Dinan , the canton of Pleslin-Trigavou and was a member of the Côte d'Émeraude community association founded in 1996 . The residents call themselves Plessix-Balissonniens / Plessix-Balissonniennes .
The municipality of Plessix-Balisson merged with Ploubalay and Trégon to form the new municipality of Beaussais-sur-Mer with effect from January 1, 2017 .

Plessix-Balisson is located about 14 kilometers southwest of Saint-Malo in the northeast of the Côtes-d'Armor department.
history
Remains from the Iron Age attest to an early settlement. In addition, finds from the Gallo-Roman period have been excavated. But it was not until the 12th century that today's place emerged from the darkness of history under the name Plessis-Juhel . The parish belonged to the Dinan district from 1793 to 1801. It has been part of the Dinan arrondissement since 1801. And from 1793 to 1801 and from 1956 to 2015 it was a municipality in the Canton of Ploubalay . From 1801 to 1956, Plessix-Balisson was part of the canton of Plancoët .
