The N114 was a French national road established between Perpignan and Port-Vendres in 1824. It goes back to the route impériale 134. The length was 31 kilometers. In 1933 it was extended to the Spanish border at Portbou. For this purpose, she took over the Gc5 (Chemin de grande communication) of the Pyrénées-Orientales department. The length grew to 51 kilometers. In Spain it continued as Carreteras Comarcales C-252 to Bisbal (today N-260 to Figueres). The section from Cerbère to Portbou was only opened as a road in 1927. In 2006 the N114 was completely phased out.
