The N155 was a French national road laid down in 1824 between Orléans and Saint-Malo, split in two by the N12 between Alençon and Mayenne. It goes back to route 175 impériale. Their total length was 292 kilometers. In 1949 the route of the N12 was relocated via Fougères and the N155 gave its section between Mayenne and Fougères to them. Their length decreased by 44 kilometers. In 1973 it was graduated between Ormes and Saint-Malo and the remaining section between Orléans and Ormes fell on the N157. In 1978, the N182 A running between Heudebouville and Louviers was renumbered N155. This was then downgraded in 2006. To the northwest of Orléans, the original straight course was interrupted because of a military airfield and replaced by a southwest bypass of the site.
