Mamers is a French municipality with 5299 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it is the administrative seat of the arrondissement of Mamers and the capital of the canton of Mamers . It is an access community associated with the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park .

The city is located in Saosnois , 46 kilometers northeast of Le Mans on the border between the Sarthe and Orne departments and is crossed by the Dive river. Alençon and Mortagne-au-Perche are both 25 kilometers away.
