Neufchatel-en-Saosnois is a French commune with 1,026 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Mamers (until 2015: canton of La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet ). The inhabitants are called Neufchâtellois .
geography
Neufchâtel-en-Saosnois is about 50 kilometers north of Le Mans . The municipality is affected in the east by the river Bienne . Neufchâtel-en-Saosnois is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Villeneuve-en-Perseigne in the north and west, Villaines-la-Carelle in the east and northeast, Saint-Rémy-du-Val in the south and Ancinnes in the west and southwest. It belongs to the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park .
