The District of La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement Mamers , in Sarthe and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town was Villeneuve-en-Perseigne . André Trottet ( UMP ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2001 to 2015 .
geography
The canton of La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet averaged 181 meters above sea level , between 121 meters in Neufchâtel-en-Saosnois and 339 meters in Louzes. The canton was in the far north of the Sarthe department on the border with the Orne department. It bordered this department to the north and east, the canton of Mamers to the south and the canton of Saint-Paterne to the west.

Former parishes
In the canton of La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet, the following municipalities, which no longer exist today, were:
- Saint-Paul-sur-Sarthe was incorporated into La Fresnaye in 1863 (La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet from 1894).
- Beauvoir was incorporated into Aillières in 1964. The new municipality was named Aillières-Beauvoir .
- Chassé , La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet , Lignières-la-Carelle , Montigny , Roullée and Saint-Rigomer-des-Bois merged on January 1st, 2015 to form the new municipality of Villeneuve-en-Perseigne .
