Montigny is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Villeneuve-en-Perseigne with 27 inhabitants (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Ignymontais .

On January 1, 2015, Montigny was merged with the municipalities of Lignières-la-Carelle , Saint-Rigomer-des-Bois , Roullée , Chassé and La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet to form the new municipality ( Commune nouvelle ) Villeneuve-en-Perseigne. The municipality belonged to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Mamers (until 2015: canton La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet ).

geography

Montigny is located about 48 kilometers north of Le Mans and about eight kilometers east-northeast of Alençon . The Sarthe runs in the northeast .
