The District of Le Mans Center was until 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement Le Mans , in the Sarthe and the region Pays de la Loire . Veronique Rivron ( UMP ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2004 to 2015 .

geography

The canton was in the center of the Sarthe department. It bordered in the north on the cantons of Le Mans-Nord-Ouest, Le Mans-Nord-Campagne and Le Mans-Nord-Ville, in the south on the canton Le Mans-Ville-Est and in the west on the canton Le Mans-Ouest.

Communities

The canton consisted of parts of the city of Le Mans . The historic district with the town hall, the cathedral and the museum were on its territory. The city administration and the large shopping streets were also part of it. The border of the canton was the Sarthe river.

history

The canton Le Mans Center was established in 1967 after the division of the previous cantons Le Mans 1 - Le Mans 3. It remained unchanged when the cantons in the Le Mans region were reorganized in 1982.
