The canton of Montfort-le-Gesnois was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement Mamers , in Sarthe and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town was Montfort-le-Gesnois . Christophe Chaudun ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2011 to 2015 . Until the administrative reform of February 15, 2006, the canton belonged to the Arrondissement of Le Mans .
geography
The canton of Montfort-le-Gesnois was on average 78 meters above sea level, between 52 meters in Champagné and 157 meters in Le Breil-sur-Mérize. The canton was in the center of the Sarthe department. It bordered the canton of Tuffé to the east, the canton of Bouloire to the east and south, the cantons of Le Mans Est-Campagne to the south and west and the cantons of Ballon and Bonnétable to the north.
