Surfonds is a French municipality with 340 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Savigné-l'Évêque (until 2015: canton of Montfort-le-Gesnois ). The inhabitants are called Surfondais .
geography
Surfonds is about 19 kilometers east-southeast of Le Mans . Surfonds is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Breil-sur-Mérize in the north, Bouloire in the east, Volnay in the south, Challes in the south-west and Ardenay-sur-Mérize in the west.
