Challes is located about 17 kilometers east-southeast of Le Mans on the Narais . Challes is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ardenay-sur-Mérize in the north, Surfonds in the northeast, Volnay in the east, Saint-Mars-de-Locquenay in the east and southeast, Villaines-sous-Lucé in the southeast, Le Grand-Lucé in the south and Parigné -l'Évêque to the west.
