The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Le Mans and the canton of Bonnétable (until 2015: canton of Le Mans-Nord-Campagne ). The inhabitants are called Neuvillois .

geography

Neuville-sur-Sarthe is about six kilometers north of Le Mans on the River Sarthe . In addition to the core town, the municipality includes the villages of Montreuil and La Trugalle . Neuville-sur-Sarthe is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Guierche in the north, Joué-l'Abbé in the northeast, Savigné-l'Évêque in the east, Sargé-lès-le-Mans in the southeast, Coulaines and Saint-Pavace in the south, Saint -Saturnin in the southwest and La Bazoge in the west and northwest.
