The District of Le Mans-Est-Campagne is a former until 2015 existing French constituency in Arrondissement Le Mans , in the Sarthe and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town was Le Mans . From 2004, Jean-Luc Fontaine ( PS ) was the representative in the General Council of the Département .

geography

The canton was in the center of the Sarthe department. It bordered the canton Ballon in the north, the cantons Montfort-le-Gesnois and Bouloire in the east, the canton Le Grand-Lucé in the southeast, the canton Écommoy in the southwest, and the cantons Le Mans-Sud-Est in the west , Le Mans-Ville-Est and Le Mans-Nord-Ville and in the northwest to the canton of Le Mans-Nord-Campagne.

Communities

The canton consisted of some eastern quarters of the city of Le Mans (the total number of inhabitants is given here, around 4,900 inhabitants of the city lived on 3.93 square kilometers) and six communities east of the city.

history

The canton of Le Mans-Est-Campagne was created when the cantons in the Le Mans region were reorganized in 1982.
