The Canton of Sable-sur-Sarthe is a French constituency in the district La Fleche , in Sarthe and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town is Sablé-sur-Sarthe . Pierre Touchard ( UMP ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 1998 .

Until the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in March 2015, the canton of Sablé-sur-Sarthe consisted of the 14 municipalities Asnières-sur-Vègre , Auvers-le-Hamon , Avoise , Courtillers , Juigné-sur-Sarthe , Louailles , Notre-Dame-du -Pé , Parcé-sur-Sarthe , Pincé , Précigné , Sablé-sur-Sarthe , Solesmes , Souvigné-sur-Sarthe and Vion . Its layout corresponded to an area of 320.91 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 7227.
