geography

Souvigné-sur-Sarthe is the westernmost municipality in the Sarthe department. It is located about 48 kilometers west-southwest of Le Mans on the Sarthe River , which forms the southeastern municipal boundary. The Taude tributary also flows into the Sarthe here. Souvigné-sur-Sarthe is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Brice in the north and northwest, Sablé-sur-Sarthe in the north and east, Saint-Denis-d'Anjou in the south and southwest and Bouère in the west.
