Coulans-sur-Gée is a French commune with 1,650 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Sarthe department in the region of Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of La Flèche and the canton of Loué . Its inhabitants are called Coulanais .
geography
Coulans-sur-Gée is about 13 kilometers west of Le Mans on the river Gée . Coulans-sur-Gée is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bernay-Neuvy-en-Champagne in the north and north-west, La Quinte in the east and north-east, Chaufour-Notre-Dame in the east, Souligné-Flacé in the south, and Brains-sur-Gée in the west as well as Amné in the west and north-west.
The A81 autoroute and the former national route 157 (today's D357) run through the municipality .
