Brûlon is a French commune with 1,580 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Sarthe department in the region of Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement La Flèche and the canton Loué (until 2015: canton Brûlon ). Its inhabitants are called Brûlonnais .

geography

Brûlon is located about 32 kilometers west-southwest of Le Mans on the Vègre River , which also forms the southern municipal boundary. Brûlon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Denis-d'Orques in the north and north-west, Joué-en-Charnie in the north and north-east, Mareil-en-Champagne in the east, Saint-Ouen-en-Champagne in the east and south-east, and Chevillé in the South as well as Avesse in the west and southwest.
