La Fontaine-Saint-Martin is a French municipality with 619 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement La Flèche and the canton Le Lude (until 2015: canton Pontvallain ). The inhabitants are called Fontainois .

La Fontaine-Saint-Martin is located about 26 kilometers south-southwest of Le Mans . La Fontaine-Saint-Martin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cérans-Foulletourte in the north, Oizé in the east, Saint-Jean-de-la-Motte in the south, Ligron in the south-west, Courcelles-la-Forêt in the west and Mézeray in the north-west.
