geography
Chenu is the southernmost municipality in the Sarthe department. It is located about 45 kilometers south-southeast of Le Mans and about 36 kilometers northwest of Tours . Chenu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Bruère-sur-Loir in the north, Nogent-sur-Loir in the northeast, Saint-Aubin-le-Dépeint in the east, Saint-Paterne-Racan in the east and south-east, Brèches in the south-east, Couesmes in the south , Villiers-au-Bouin in the southwest and Saint-Germain-d'Arcé in the west.
