The District of Saint-Paterne was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement Mamers , in Sarthe and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town was Saint-Paterne . Bernard Petiot ( UMP ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Department from 1998 to 2015 .

The canton of Saint-Paterne was on average 165 meters above sea level , between 73 meters in Fyé and 242 meters in Ancinnes. The canton was in the north of the Sarthe department on the border with the Orne department. It bordered this department to the north, the cantons of La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet and Mamers to the east, the cantons of Marolles-les-Braults and Beaumont-sur-Sarthe to the south and the canton of Fresnay-sur-Sarthe to the west.
