Le Chevain is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Saint-Paterne - Le Chevain with 577 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Sarthe department in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Saint-Paternais .
On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Le Chevain merged with Saint-Paterne to form the new municipality of Saint Paterne - Le Chevain. It belonged to the Mamers arrondissement and the Mamers canton (until 2015: Saint-Paterne canton ).
