Arçonnay is a French commune with 1,844 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Mamers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Paterne ). The inhabitants are called Arçonnéens .

geography

Arçonnay is about 38 kilometers north of Le Mans on the border with the Orne department . Arçonnay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Germain-du-Corbéis in the north and northwest, Alençon in the north, Saint-Paterne in the northeast, Champfleur in the east and southeast, Bérus in the south and southwest and Héloup in the west.

The A28 car route runs along the eastern edge of the municipality .
