Mezieres-sur-Ponthouin is a French municipality with 706 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . It is located in the arrondissement of Mamers and was part of the canton of Marolles-les-Braults until 2015 and has been part of the canton of Mamers since then . The inhabitants are called Macériens .

Mézières-sur-Ponthouin is located about 20 kilometers north-northeast of Le Mans and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dangeul in the north and north-west, Dissé-sous-Ballon in the north, Saint-Aignan in the east and north-east, Courcemont in the south and south-east, Ballon-Saint -Mars to the south and southwest and Congé-sur-Orne to the west.
