Courgains is a French municipality with 579 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Mamers (until 2015: canton of Marolles-les-Braults ). The inhabitants are called Courgannais .

Courgains is about 37 kilometers north-northeast of Le Mans . Courgains is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saosnes in the north, Saint-Calez-en-Saosnois in the northeast, Monhoudou in the east, Marolles-les-Braults in the south and southeast, Dangeul in the south and southwest, Thoigné in the west and Les Mées in the northwest.
