Chenay is a French municipality with 231 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Mamers (until 2015: canton of La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet ). The inhabitants are called Cheneysia .

geography

Chenay is about 50 kilometers north of Le Mans . Chenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Semallé in the north, Montigny in the east and northeast, Villeneuve-en-Perseigne in the south and east, Saint-Paterne - Le Chevain in the southwest, Cerisé in the west and Valframbert in the west and northwest. It belongs to the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park .
