It belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Savigné-l'Évêque (until 2015: canton of Montfort-le-Gesnois ). The inhabitants are called Gérois .

Saint-Célerin is about 21 kilometers northeast of Le Mans . Saint-Célerin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bonnétable in the north, La Chapelle-Saint-Rémy in the east and south-east, Lombron in the south and Torcé-en-Vallée in the west and north-west.
