Assé-le-Riboul is located about 22 kilometers north-northwest of Le Mans on the banks of the Longuève river . The Sarthe limits the community in the east. Assé-le-Riboul is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Christophe-de-Jambet in the north and north-west, Beaumont-sur-Sarthe in the north-east, Maresché in the east, Saint-Marceau in the south-east, Le Tronchet in the south, Mézières-sous-Lavarin in the south and south-west, Vernie in the south-west and Ségrie in the west.
