Parennes is a French municipality with 508 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Sillé-le-Guillaume . The inhabitants are called Parennais .

Parennes is about 35 kilometers west-northwest of Le Mans . Parennes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rouessé-Vassé in the north and north-west, Rouez in the east and north-east, Tennie in the east and south-east, Saint-Symphorien in the south and south-east, Neuvillette-en-Charnie in the south and Torcé-Viviers-en-Charnie in the West and southwest.
