Anatoli Muratov (born July 30, 1988 ) is a German professional boxer from Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance . He is the current WBA Intercontinental Middleweight Champion, as well as the former International German Super Middleweight Champion of the Bund Deutscher Berufsboxer eV and Universal Boxing Federation European Champion.

amateur

Anatoli Muratov started boxing at VFB Friedrichshafen when he was eight . He later moved to BC Langenargen , where he trained under Thomas Schuler. He was Württemberg champion for both clubs.

professional

Muratov won his first professional fight on November 10, 2012 against the Russian Amir Hacimuradov (4 wins, 3 losses) by unanimous point judgment after four rounds. This was followed by four wins in Germany before he lost to Juan de la Rosa (20 wins, 3 defeats) by knockout in the fifth round on November 2, 2013 in the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo (Texas) , USA .

After the America bankruptcy, three victories followed in Germany.

Despite sparring sessions with Vincent Feigenbutz , his first attempt to win the international German championship failed when he was forced to stop the fight after the sixth round on August 30, 2014 in the Volkshaus (Zurich) due to a broken rib.

After two victorious development fights in Germany and another victory in Poland, Muratov became his Universal Boxing Federation European super middleweight champion on October 18, 2015 in the Maritim Hotel in Nuremberg.

In 2016 and 2017, seven victorious fights followed in Germany, Hungary and Turkey.

On April 28, 2018 Muratov became the international German super middleweight champion in his 22nd professional fight in the bigBox in Kempten (Allgäu) by beating the Austrian Deki Milicevic.

After another 8-round point win in Istanbul in April 2019 against Edwin Palacios from Nigcuragua, Muratov's first major international middleweight title opportunity followed on September 14, 2019: In front of around 3000 spectators, he won the WBA Intercontinental title in the ZF Arena in Friedrichshafen -Fight against Ilias Essaoudi by knockout in round 3. Muratov managed to jump into the top 15 of the world rankings of the World Boxing Association .

He was u. a. trained by Mahir Oral . He is currently working with Istvan Szili as head trainer. Benedikt Poelchau has been his manager and promoter since the beginning of his professional career.

Muratov is a trained engine mechanic and works for MTU Friedrichshafen .

In the book Knockout - The Best Stories of Boxing and the accompanying audio book (read by Henning Baum ), the story Der Heilige Benedikt also reports on Muratov's title fight in Zurich in 2014 and the relationship between him and his manager Poelchau. Der Spiegel published an abridged version of the story under the title Bene and the Blood of His Boys .
