Chérisay is a French municipality with 309 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Sillé-le-Guillaume (until 2015: canton of Saint-Paterne ). The inhabitants are called Chériséens .
geography
Chérisay is about 39 kilometers north-northwest of Le Mans and about eight kilometers south of Alençon . Chérisay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Champfleur in the north, Ancinnes and Bourg-le-Roi in the east, Rouessé-Fontaine in the south-east, Fyé in the south and south-west, Oisseau-le-Petit in the west and Béthon in the north-west.
The A28 car route runs along the western edge of the municipality .
