René is about 35 kilometers north of Le Mans . René is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thoiré-sous-Contensor in the north, Les Mées in the north and northeast, Thoigné in the east, Dangeul in the southeast, Nouans and Meurcé in the south, Doucelles in the southwest and Chérancé in the west.
