Maresché belongs to the arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Sillé-le-Guillaume (until 2015: canton of Beaumont-sur-Sarthe ). The inhabitants are called Mareschéens .

Maresché is about 25 kilometers north-northwest of Le Mans . The Sarthe limits the community to the west. Maresché is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beaumont-sur-Sarthe in the north and northwest, Vivoin in the northeast, Lucé-sous-Ballon in the east and northeast, Teillé in the south and east, Saint-Marceau in the south and Assé-le-Riboul in the west
