The road branches off east of the town Rožnov pod Radhoštěm (Rosenau under the Radhoscht) from the Silnice I / 35 ( European route 442 ) to the north, crosses the Moravian-Silesian Beskids , continues through Frenštát pod Radhoštěm (Frankstadt under the Radhoscht) and Kopřivnice (Nesselsdorf) to Příbor (Freiberg in Moravia). Shortly after this town, the not yet fully developed Dálnice 48 ( European route 462 ) is crossed. The Silnice I / 58 continues in a generally northerly direction to the southern bypass of Ostrava (Ostrau) in the train of the Silnice I / 11 , where it changes into the Silnice II / 647. By 2010 it was led beyond Ostrava to Bohumín (Oderberg) and from there to the Polish border.

The total length of the road is around 47 kilometers.
