The Silnice I / 3 ( Czech for "1st class road 3") is a Czech state road (1st class road), which leads from the Prague-Brno motorway in a southerly direction to the Austrian border.

The road that once ran on the route of the current Silnice II / 603 to Poříčí nad Sázavou and met only there to the current road, at the junction ( exit ) 21 from the highway D1 motorway branches off to the south, is also the European route E55 . It leads via Benešov (Beneschau) and Bystřice u Benešova (Bistritz near Beneschau) as well as Olbramovice u Votic , where the Silnice I / 18 meets and ends, to Votice (Wotitz), goes to Mezno (Benešov district) in the already finished section of the motorway D3 motorway on which to Tabor passing up veselí nad lužnicí (Wesseli at the Lainsitz) leads, and runs from the junction of the Silnice I / 24 to southwest towards Budejovice (Ceske Budejovice), from where the Silnice I / 20 ( European route 49 ) to the northwest and Silnice I / 34 (continuation of European route 49 to the east) branch off, then runs again in a southerly direction over the junction of Silnice I / 39 and past Kaplice (Kaplitz) to the Austrian border at Dolní Dvořiště (Unterhaid), where it turns into Mühlviertler Straße B310.

The length of the road is around 151 kilometers.

history

From 1940 to 1945 the road formed part of Reichsstraße 170 , from Veselí to Budweis the Reichsstraße 372 and south of Budweis a part of Reichsstraße 95 .

Attractions

  • Brake stones in Kaplice and Nažidla ( Bujanov municipality ), which were erected along the old salt trade route, the Linzer Steige , and which have been preserved to this day.
