The road begins in Slavkov (Austerlitz), where it branches off from Silnice I / 50 ( European route 50 ) to the southeast, runs from there via Kyjov (Gaya) to Veselí nad Moravou (Wessely an der March), where it crosses Silnice I / 55 and in Blatnice pod Svatým Antonínkem (Groß Blatnitz) the Silnice I / 71 and reaches the border with Slovakia at Straňanské sedlo (Stranypass), beyond which it continues as the Slovak Cesta I. triedy 54 .

The total length of the road is around 83 kilometers.
