The road branches off from Silnice I / 6 in Chanov in the municipality of Obrnice (Obernitz) near Most (Brüx) , and runs in a general eastward direction over the junction of Silnice I / 28 in Skršín (Skirschina) and Třebenice (Trebnitz) and the Motorway Dálnice 8 at junction (exit) 48 crossing to Lovosice (Lobositz) and from there via Terezín (Theresienstadt) over the Elbe to Litoměřice (Leitmeritz). Its continuation takes the road via Úštěk (Auscha) and Kravaře v Čechách (Graber) and finally ends when it meets the Silnice 9 in Zahrádky u České Lípy (Neugarten).

The length of the road is a good 74 kilometers.

From 1940 to 1945 the road from Terezín to the east formed Reichsstraße 348 .
