Třebenice (German Trebnitz ) is a city in northern Bohemia . It belongs to the Leitmeritz district in the Aussiger region . It is 228 m above sea level. M. six kilometers southwest of Lovosice in the valley of the Modla river and 16 kilometers west of Litoměřice ( Leitmeritz ).
history
Třebenice was first mentioned in 1227 as the property of the St. George Monastery at Prague Castle. The Košťálov castle , which is still in ruins today , also belonged to the property . It is mentioned for the first time in 1372. At the beginning of the Hussite Wars it came into the possession of the Cappleri de Sulewicz family . The castle was abandoned in the 16th century.
Community structure
The town of Třebenice consists of the districts Kocourov ( Kotzauer ), Kololeč ( Kolloletsch ), Lhota ( Lhotta ), Lipá ( Lippai ), Medvědice ( Nedwieditsch ), Mrsklesy ( Merskles ), Sutom ( Suttom ), Teplá ( Tepley / Töebenice ) ( Trebnitz ). Basic settlement units are Kocourov, Kololeč, Lhota, Medvědice, Mrsklesy, Sutom, Teplá and Třebenice. The settlement of Dřinek ( Trinka ) also belongs to Třebenice .
The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Kocourov u Medvědic, Kololeč, Lhota u Medvědic, Medvědice, Mrsklesy, Sutom, Teplá u Třebenic and Třebenice.
Attractions
In the town in the south-west of the Central Bohemian Uplands there is the “Museum of the Bohemian Garnets ” (Muzeum Českého Granátu) in the former Protestant church . a. Contains the garnet jewelry of Ulrike von Levetzow , the last lover of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe . Also worth seeing is the Church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary, built between 1591 and 1601, and the early Baroque churchyard chapel of the Holy Trinity, built between 1692 and 1696.
To the north is the Košťál mountain with the ruins of the Košťálov castle . On a rock near the village of Vlastislav highly visible is the keep of the castle Skalka ( Skalken ). To the northwest are the Vršetín mountain , which has been greatly reduced by a quarry, as well as the Oltářík / Hrádek mountain and castle ruins . The neighboring municipality of Klapý to the south is dominated by the Hazmburk ( Hasenburg ).
