Jenčice (German Jentschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic .
geography
It is 227 m above sea level. M. one kilometer northeast of the town of Třebenice in the Bohemian Central Mountains and belongs to the Okres Litoměřice . State road 15 runs south of the town on Jenčický potok. In the Čertovka area, Jenčice borders on Třebenice, in the east lies Čížkovice and in the north Koš Koálov. To the northwest rises the steep field slope of the 481 m high Košťál with the ruins of the Košťálov castle .
history
As early as 1251, a Stefan von Benešice together with his brother Pavlík von Sulevice can be proven. Presumably the village Jenešice was meant by Benešice. Only the documented mention of Jenešice from the year 1318 is therefore certain. In 1408 the noble von Wchinitz family acquired the place, which then belonged to Kostial Castle until its destruction.
During excavations in 1985 a Neolithic settlement was discovered near Jenčice. In the village there is an old Speierling , which was declared a natural monument.
Community structure
The districts of Čertovka and Košťálov ( Kostial ) belong to the Jenčice municipality .
