Děčany (German Jetschan or Dietschan , Dieschan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It belongs to the Okres Litoměřice .
geography
The place is eight kilometers southwest of Třebenice at 224 m above sea level. M. in the valley of Suchý potok in the south-west of the Bohemian Central Uplands . Neighboring towns are Třebívlice in the north, Solany in the north-east, Lukohořany and Vojničky in the south-east, Hnojnice in the west and Semeč in the north-west. Děčany is located at the foot of the 306 m high Baba.
history
Děčany was first mentioned in 1226 in a document about the donation of the village to the Doksany monastery . The place name is probably derived from the Slavic tribe of Jetschaner (Czech: Děčané).
Since the end of the 15th century, the place belonged to the Vřesovec from Vresovice, which was followed by the Hrobschitz von Hrobschitz . In 1628 the property was divided and Johann von Aldringen acquired part of Jetschan. The other part was incorporated into the Liebshausen rule in 1694 . In 1732 the Klebelsberg on Unter-Trziblitz first acquired parts of Jetschan and finally the entire town by 1811.
The residents traditionally live from agriculture, which is dominated by fruit and hops growing.
Community structure
The municipality of Děčany consists of the districts Děčany ( Jetschan ), Lukohořany ( Lauroran ), Semeč ( Semtsch ) and Solany ( Solan ), which also form cadastral districts.
Attractions
About one and a half kilometers southwest of Děčany in the valley of the Hnojnický potok is the natural monument Kamenná slunce .
In the village there is a war memorial from the First World War and the buildings of the national estate built at the end of the 19th century.
