history
The place was first mentioned in 1280 as Podsudice . In the 16th century, the place, which originally formed its own rule, was divided into a Teplitz and a Skalken part. The Teplitz part came into the possession of the Waldsteiners in 1512 and was pledged to Wolf Kaplirz zu Sulewicz auf Skalken in 1522 . At the beginning of the 17th century the village was divided further, and the cathedral dean of Leitmeritz also received a share. In 1616 Elisabeth Berka von Dubá acquired the desert castle Woltarik and the villages Podseditz and Wchinitz . In 1634 her nephew Jan Vejkart von Vřesovice inherited the property, followed by Franz Ulrich Kolowrat on Liebstein.
In addition to agriculture, the inhabitants used to work in mining on Bohemian garnet. In 1775, Count Carl Friedrich Hatzfeldt zu Gleichen founded the Neugründel settlement, which belonged to Podseditz and was closed after the Second World War, at a grenade mine .
To the west of Podsedice, a pyro-gravel deposit is being mined to extract garnet . This is the only still operated garnet mining site in Bohemia. The rock quarrying on the 470 m high Vršetín between Obřice and Teplá , which has covered almost the entire mountain peak, is visible from afar . The gravel obtained there is mainly used in road construction.
In the center of the village there is a chapel from the 18th century.
