Slatina is a municipality in the Czech Republic. She belongs to the Okres Litoměřice .
geography
The place is three kilometers north of the city Libochovice at 177 m above sea level. M. at the foot of the Křesínské vrchy on the Hasenburger Platte in the southwest of the Bohemian Central Uplands . In the west is the Hazmburk and south the valley of the Rosovka . Neighboring towns are Černiv in the northeast and Libochovice in the south.
history
Slatina was first mentioned in a document in 1057, when Duke Spytihněv II left the place to the monastery chapter of St. Stephen in Leitmeritz . In 1462 the provost Beneš awarded the place to Zbyněk Zajíc von Hasenburg . In 1558, Johann III. from Lobkowitz to Žebrák and Točník the place. In 1594 the property of George the Elder of Lobkowicz was confiscated and Sigismund Báthory acquired Slatina. After his death, Adam von Sternberg was the owner of the place.
Slatina was plundered several times during the Thirty Years War . After its destruction in 1631 the village remained desolate . Wenzel Adalbert von Sternberg initiated the resettlement in 1675 and his successor Gundakar von Dietrichstein brought new settlers from Moravia in 1677 . 1858, the line of Dietrichsteiner died out and the land fell to the family Herberstein .
After the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848, Slatina became an independent municipality. In 1882 the railway from Lobositz to Libochowitz was inaugurated, which ran east of the village in the valley of Podsedický potok . Slatina was given a breakpoint, but it was one and a half kilometers outside the village.
The Purkyně Foundation, established on February 22, 1992 on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Libochovice, has its seat in Slatina.
Attractions
The church, originally dedicated to St. Wenceslaus, dates from the end of the 12th century. In 1746 it was rebuilt in the baroque style and rededicated as the Church of St. John of Nepomuk.
